COACHES STATEMENT
Cold south coast saw us take on solent at their little barn.
Girls all hit the pad in high spirits, we played with 3 lines mostly made up of development players which did show at stages. Work rate was great all chasing the puck down like hungry wolves in the first period. Solent found an opening and the goals started to concede.
After a short period break and change on end we went into the second period, this was to be the dip in our energy levels, skating decreased and solent used their deep players to entice our defence from the goal, making many opportunities for numbers on the score board.
With a net minder change half way through the solent attack still hit home. And saw us leaving the ice for a fresh cut before the third. A decent reset in the changing room saw the girls dig out their spare energy. It took 15 minutes in the third for solent to find a goal. Girls absolutely smashed it through the 3rd and kept the score in single figures for the home team, a few power players came our way but we just couldn't find that vital finish.
All in all if we forget about the 2nd period it was our best performance so far through the campaign. Some of the girls now finding their feet and becoming strong members of the team. Onwards and upwards! Feed up over the festive season now ready for the next. Merry Christmas all.
