COACHES STATEMENT
Sunday saw us take on the second in the league Sheffield.
From the start you could see how they had found that position. They came out fast and hard, looking sharp and fresh. The ladies in true Cobra style attacked back at every chance, but Sheffield found gaps throughout our lines and capitalised on what is always a slow start.
We came to the bench with good optimism moving into the second period. But Sheffield were well drilled and with the speed over our back checking took full advantage.
Although it wasn't a complete one sided game the ladies fought tough all the way through and we defended solid with a complete line in our end, and when we moved the puck into their zone we had a lot of control and plenty of shots but a well positioned netty stopped all the chances. We just couldn't find that gap!
The whole game was fought hard to the end with all the ladies giving all they had in the tank. We came away with a loss adding to the losing streak, but after seeing our issues I believe now with a few games in hand we can make a good climb back up the board. I always have full faith in my ladies to make it happen.
Well done! All heart in this team!! Great efforts. On to the next one!! It's just a lost fight, but we can still win the war!!
